TV actress Hina Khan shared a very heart-touching, inspiring update as she wished everyone on her journey with Breast Cancer. Not just folks on the television screen, popular in many shows like “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” and reality shows like “Bigg Boss,” Hina, last week shared the information that she has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. In a very emotional video shared on her Instagram account, Hina Khan showed the time she decided to cut her long locks before a chemo session. She did that to take control over the situation and to set an example for others battling the same.

The video begins with Hina Khan getting her hair braided by a friend in front of a mirror. In the background, one can see her mother who is yet unable to continue holding her emotions and is lamenting, watching her daughter getting ready for this big change. Hina, who has been so strong all along, tries consoling her mom by saying, “Ro nahi, please mumma. It’s just hair, mumma.” Keeping a brave face, despite the serious atmosphere, Hina showed nothing but resolve and positivity.

Hina Khan’s stylist handed her a scissor and even allowed her to make the first cut voluntarily of that thick lock of hair, symbolizing she had a free hand to take charge of the situation and weave her own story now. Post-haircut, she said how she felt now: “It feels good, now I’m free.” Her mother, still emotional, cuddled Hana as tightly as ever while Hana kissed her cheeks to let her feel that it will be okay.

In one emotional note attached with the video, Hina spoke of losing emotionally her “crown” of hair. “You can hear my mother’s wailing voice in Kashmiri as she prepared herself for the sight which she never thought and dared to dream about. Not all of us have the same tools at our disposal to manage heartbreaking emotions.”

Hina’s message shows her strength and will. Although she states how tough the journey must have been, she really emphasizes the need of tough decisions when hardship hits. “To all the lovely people there, especially the beautiful ladies who are fighting the same battle, it’s painful; I know for most of us, our hair is our crown, which we never remove. But what if facing a battle so tough that you have to lose your hair, your crown, your pride? If you have to win, you have to take a few hard decisions. And I choose to win,” she writes.

Hina Khan’s decision to cut her hair before it starts falling out because of chemotherapy is a proactive measure to lessen any mental suffering brought on by a gradual loss of hair. “I have determined to give myself every possible chance to win this battle. I choose to let my beautiful hair go before it starts falling off. I didn’t want to go through this mental break down for weeks. So, I choose to let go of my crown because I have realized my real crown is my COURAGE, my STRENGTH, and the love I have for myself,” she narrated.

Besides, Hina Khan is going to make a wig from her own hair for this stage of the therapy; in truth, we find it a very practical, thoughtful ideaโ€”very representative of her forward-thinking approach.

Hina concluded her note by asking for prayers, putting emphasis on the collective strength needed to go through such tests. “May God ease our pain and give us strength to be victorious. Plz Pray Pray Pray for me ,” she concluded.
