Aadesh Shrivastava: A Legacy in Indian Music

Aadesh Shrivastava is a well-known music composer who, in 2015, made an exit from the Indian music world with cancer at the age of 51 years. That man, like his family, has actually been making money in the direction of films since they counted more than 100 Hindi films along with being celebrated in Bollywood due to their association with top Hollywood personalities. His family’s official foray in the entertainment world hasn’t exactly been very easy, mainly his son Avitesh but the man has stayed focused.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Promise to a Dear Friend

Vijayta Pandit recently recollected all the emotional moments during Aadesh’s last days in an interview with Lehren Retro. Shah Rukh Khan was a good friend of Aadesh; so the latter used to visit them quite often in hospital. One day, when he was not speaking, Aadesh used to hold hand of Shah Rukh Khan and point his finger towards his son, Avitesh, asking him to take care after his death.

Composer's Sister Appeals to SRK

Vijayta said no one from the Khan house has contacted the family since Aadesh’s demise. She claimed that the number which was given them is not working now. In her plea, she reminded Shah Rukh that her composer brothers, Jatin-Lalit, played a very important role in his career when he was not such a huge star and wrote all the music for blockbusters like “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge,” “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” and “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.”.

“Main Shah Rukh ko yaad dilana chahti hoon (I would like to remind Shah Rukh) that he was a good friend of Aadesh Shrivastava. This is the time Shah Rukh! We need you, come and help my son. He needs a little push. He can make a film under Red Chillies with Avitesh; he is such a good actor,” Vijayta said.

Avitesh Shrivastava's Struggles in Bollywood

Avitesh Shrivastava is a singer, music composer, and actor. He has worked very hard to make himself the final name in the industry as a performer. He has directed his debut film, “Sirf Ek Friday.” Despite his efforts and run-ins with International artists like Akon and French Montana, he still could not find support within the Bollywood Industry.

Vijayta elaborates problems her son faces by saying, ” Unfortunately, my son is not getting support or direction in the film industry. People from the industry know that today Aadesh is not there, they should help my son. You won’t believe when Aadesh was in the hospital, Shah Rukh Khan used to come and meet. One day before he died, Aadesh held Shah Rukh’s hand, when he could not even talk, and gestured pointing towards our son that he should look after him. Today, I am just not able to contact Shah Rukh; the number that was given to my son is not working. I just want to remind Shah Rukh that he was a good friend of Aadesh, and this is the time, we need you. I need you for my son because he is my and our family’s future. I am not earning, I am not doing anything”.

Vijayta's Appeal to Amitabh Bachchan for Support

Vijayta also appealed to Amitabh Bachchan, another close associate of Aadesh. She reported that though he had attended the launch of Avitesh’s first song, he had given enough distance from the family thereafter. Vijayta raised one of the most vital contributions Aadesh has rendered to Amitabh’s career-the return to his career in Great-grandfather’s revival.

“They used to come here day and night. Amitji does come when there is any function for Avitesh. He had attended the launch of his first song, but now, he has stopped coming to our studio. He is not in touch with us now, but it’s time for him also to support my son because Aadesh gave him his comeback. Aadesh has done a lot for him. I never asked for financial help from him, but at least he can help out my son,” Vijayta added.

Jatin-Lalit's Sister Seeks SRK’s Help for Avitesh's Debut

Jatin-Lalit sister, Vijayta Pandit, confessed that in some of the most classic films such as “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman” (1992), “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (1995), and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” (1998), among many others, SRK songs had been partially contributed by Jatin-Lalit.

“Shah Rukh Khan can make a film with my son under his production banner Red Chillies Entertainment. He (Avitesh) is such a good actor, he is doing a film called ‘Sirf Ek Friday’ that will have an OTT release… he is working so hard. I want to remind Shah Rukh that this is the time, come and help my son. He just needs a little push. Shah Rukh is a very sweet man, he came twice to see Aadesh in the last stages of his cancer. Now that he has promised, I want to ask him to help my son; he needs you; he does not have a father. Aadesh made you promise that so you have to do something,’ Vijayta emphasized.

The emotional appeal of Vijayta Pandit brings into focus the problems with one’s family when a much loved music composer of film is expired. Her plea to Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan reminds them of all those promises made and young talent to be supported in the industry. As Avitesh is still working hard on his debut film, the support from these Bollywood giants would make a difference in his career.
